Thanks to its mild climate, the Provence region of France is home to a wide variety of succulents in the wild. They have been treasured plants in botanical gardens since the 18th century but have risen in popularity as they are particularly well suited to the dry Mediterranean climate.
Succulents are low-care, drought-tough plants that come in a myriad of shapes and forms and can be found in over 60 different plant families. Their distinguishing feature is their ability to store water in their flesh or bodies. Whilst succulents vary dramatically, many people will identify the name succulent with Sempervivums (lat. meaning “always alive”), most valued for their distinctive rosettes of densely packed leaves that radiate out from a central point.
Our Succulent collection is cast from Sempervivum rosettes, capturing their spirally patterned foliage in exquisite feather green coloured glass, creating sublime three dimensional shapes of wearable art.
Materials: The Succulent Earrings are cast in bronze with 24kt gold plating and hand-cast glass elements in shades of feather green. The wires are 925 silver with a 24kt gold plating.
Measures: 2cm L x 1.9cm W
