Botanically known as Salvia officinalis, it is native to the Mediterranean region and has been cultivated from ancient times. Following its historical records, it becomes clear that sage has been used in cooking and for medicine in almost every culture around the world. It was a healing plant of great renown throughout the Middle Ages and is still widely used today.
The texture of the sage leaf is one of the focal points of our Sage Collection. Cast directly from actual sage leaves, each glass element captures the miniscule details of the sage leaf, from its network of veins to its curved shape.
