Our Vienna Nouveau collection is inspired by the Art Nouveau movement and the Vienna Secession, in particular one of its founders, the artist Gustav Klimt.
Whilst Art Nouveau is generally characterised by floral patterns, sensuous lines, and subtle lights, Gustav Klimt’s approach deviated from the movements distinctive organic flowery styles. He displayed strong geometric motifs, stylised ornamental details, bold warm colours and gold enrichments. Our Vienna Nouveau pieces are particularly influenced by Klimt’s Palais Stoclet mosaic friezes with their magnificent sweeping spirals and geometric artwork.
